The School of Medicine at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences boasts a proud 50-year legacy of excellence in medical education and research. Our faculty have been pioneers in bedside teaching, playing a vital role in the evolution of empirical knowledge into scientific medicine. From the outset, we have recognized that investigation and clinical practice are united in spirit, method, and purpose.

1. Basic Sciences Departments

  • Cell Culture Laboratory
  • Administration of comprehensive Basic Sciences and Internship Examinations
  • Regional Center for PhD Examination Administration (Western Iran)
  • Language Laboratories
  • Genetic Laboratory for Prenatal Diagnosis (PND), serving four neighboring provinces in western Iran
  • Three fully equipped, standard Anatomy Halls

2. Clinical Departments

  • Imam Reza (AS) Hospital: the largest university hospital in western Iran
  • Community-Oriented Medicine Center: oversees one-month ambulatory care and medical internship programs
  • Specialized Pediatric Urology and Endourology Units
  • Advanced subspecialty equipment, including laser devices, laparoscopes, pediatric and adult endourology tools, Nocturnal Penile Tumescence (NPT), and Shock Wave Lithotripsy (SWL)
  • High-level laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries, such as incisional/inguinal hernia repair, achalasia treatment, Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS), and sympathectomy
  • Advanced endovascular, oncologic, and arthroscopic knee surgeries
