Our Mission
The School of Medicine at Kermanshah University of
Medical Sciences, in full adherence to the approved national curriculum and
with the foundational belief that human health constitutes the cornerstone of
sustainable development, undertakes its academic mandate in alignment with
major national strategic documents. These include the General Policies of the
National Health Service System, the Statement on the Second Phase of the
Islamic Revolution, the National Master Plan for Science, the Competency
Framework for General Medical Graduates, and the broader health needs of
society, while upholding the principles of educational equity. Leveraging its
well-equipped hospitals, advanced teaching and clinical facilities, and a
dedicated cadre of experienced and motivated faculty members, the School
assumes a central role in the health system as the principal custodian of
medical education. It is entrusted with the critical responsibility of
educating, training, and preparing capable, ethical, and committed graduates in
medicine, and strives to fulfill the following mission objectives:
1) To educate and prepare competent
professionals at the general, specialty, subspecialty, and postgraduate levels
through the application of cutting-edge pedagogical methods and contemporary
educational standards, supported by optimal allocation of institutional
facilities, technologies, and resources to ensure continuity and excellence in
health service delivery.
2) To advance a nationally
responsive and purpose-driven model of medical education grounded in societal
health needs, authoritative reports, principles of social accountability, and
regional and national priorities, while maintaining conformity with
international standards in medical education.
3) To contribute to the enhancement
of healthcare services by providing exemplary clinical care to both domestic
and international patients, expanding telemedicine services, collaborating with
local health-related organizations, and strengthening a culture of prevention
through the development and support of the family physician program.
4) To promote the professional and
ethical empowerment of graduates through evidence-based education, respect for
patient rights and human dignity, and adherence to the highest standards of
professional ethics and work integrity, supported by continuous and lifelong
learning initiatives grounded in the Iranian-Islamic model of development and
consistent with national policies on youth, balanced population growth, and
family well-being.
5) To guide and facilitate
high-impact applied research tailored to regional and national priorities,
utilizing innovative technologies and fostering international collaboration
with the aim of positioning the School as a leading educational and research
hub in western Iran through the advancement of fundamental and specialized
research within postgraduate disciplines.
Our Vision
The School of Medicine at
Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences aspires to achieve distinction by
employing innovative pedagogical strategies, advanced educational technologies,
and constructive collaboration with national and international academic
institutions. The School seeks to cultivate graduates who are intellectually
rigorous, professionally competent, ethically grounded, socially accountable,
and steadfastly committed to the highest standards of professional conduct.
Through the attainment of superior scientific and professional competence
grounded in contemporary medical knowledge, the School is dedicated to
providing high quality health services across all levels of the health system,
with a central focus on equity and continuous improvement in population health
and well-being. The School endeavors to actively engage in the international
academic arena and to be recognized among the leading and most successful
medical schools in the country and the region. It is projected that within the
next five years, the School will be ranked among the top medical schools in
Iran and among the top 2,000 medical schools globally.
Main Goals
G1) To
enhance the quantitative and qualitative capacity of the faculty body and to
strengthen the educational performance of academic staff within the School of
Medicine.
G2) To
advance the educational quality of learners across all academic tiers and
training programs offered by the School of Medicine.
G3) To
deliver high-quality, contemporary clinical services aligned with globally
recognized standards of medical care.
G4) To
expand and deepen fundamental, applied, and knowledge-based research across the
basic and clinical sciences.
G5) To
improve the efficiency and quality of managerial, administrative-financial,
human resources, and support operations within the School of Medicine.
G6) To
systematize and optimize administrative and educational infrastructures, and to
upgrade laboratory, hospital, instructional, and auxiliary educational
equipment across the School and its affiliated teaching hospitals.
G7) To
strengthen institutional capacity in electronic and virtual education with the
aim of promoting educational equity and cost-effectiveness.
G8) To
establish new academic disciplines and degree programs aligned with national
developmental priorities, and to expand specialized, subspecialized, Ph.D.,
interdisciplinary, and post-doctoral training opportunities.
G9) To
advance toward scientific authority and forward-looking leadership in medical
education.

collaborations with leading universities worldwide.
