Clinical Biochemistry Department of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences is one of the best Clinical Biochemistry Departments in Iran for undergraduate and graduate education, and basic and clinical research in Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Genetics. The staff of our department consisted of 3 Professors of Clinical and Basic Biochemistry, 2 Associate Professors of Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, 6 Assistant Professors of Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, and 3 Instructors.
At the undergraduate level we offer comprehensive programs in teaching Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Genetics. Also, at graduate level, our students benefit of comprehensive teaching and research programs in Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Genetics. The research element is the major requirement of the MSc and PhD degrees. Our department’s aim is to develop research skills of students and to become well-trained independent scientists.
Students generally select their advisor of MSc or PhD thesis at the end of their second semester. The selection process is basis the mutual acceptance by both the student and the faculty member.
Research areas include the genetic and epigenetic studies of some prevalent human diseases such as hemoglobinopathies, cancer, preeclampsia, coronary artery disease and diabetes mellitus.
