The Department and its motivated academic staff provide outstanding opportunities for graduate and post-graduate training. The Department provides students training for whom wish to specialize in physiology. Exceptional opportunities for basic and translational research are available. The Department is the center for the Graduate Program in Anesthesiology. Postgraduate students can pursue research with any academic staff of the Department, and interdepartmental interactions are encouraged.
General physiology: General physiology is taught to second year medicine, pharmacy and dentistry students . The head of the department is the course master for this course. The course is primarily didactic lectures with one laboratory. The didactic lectures are given by many of the academic staff. The course is divided into two parts. First, there are several basic lectures on the components of the cell, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory and blood physiology. This is followed in the other semester by instructing nervous system, endocrine and renal physiology. Emphasis is given on the clinical relevance of the material being taught throughout the course.
General physiology is also taught to the first year of the variety of the medical students including nursing, laboratory sciences, midwifery and so on.
General and professional physiology is taught to the master students of physiology in the two-year course followed by the thesis directing on the favorable field of the research.
