Tissue Engineering is an interdisciplinary science in which graduates while getting familiar with the structure of tissues, living cells, and various biomaterials, are able to perform various activities in the field of tissue repair, regenerative medicine, and the creation of living alternatives. The use of a combination of biomaterials, cell therapy, and stem cells will certainly revolutionize medicine and patient therapy, and the future of medicine is unimaginable without the advancement of advanced tissue engineering technologies. The establishment of the Department of Tissue Engineering at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences has created a new path with lofty goals for professors and students interested in this field. To achieve the not-too-distant future in this field, we have used our efforts in this field, and together with the young professors and students of this field, we are determined to follow this path with more serious steps and great efforts until we reach useful destinations to serve the people of Iran and even the whole world, tirelessly continue. We will work hard to ensure that all students acquire the necessary skills in research, education, and teamwork during their studies.

Introducing the group

 As the scientific, educational, research referee, and healthcare center of the west of Iran, Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, owns the scientific standards necessary for training graduates in higher scientific degrees. The educational and medical centers affiliated with the university count as pioneers in making health-oriented services available to both province residents and other neighboring ones. The Department of Tissue Engineering of the Medical School of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences was established and started working in 2021 upon the permission of the University Educational Council and the University Council. To achieve modern therapies, clinical sciences require more basic disciplines than before. The production of medical products must be updated according to the increasing global population and with the same proportion of different diseases. Tissue engineering knowledge meets most demands of the global community in case of diseases requiring complete or partial organ replacement. The field of tissue engineering quickly turned into one of the most popular fields among modern medical sciences and technologies. Relating to the rapid identification and timely establishment of this novel and seductive science in our country, which led to the admission of the first course of tissue engineering students in 2009, increasing efforts are observed in several universities to launch this profitable technology along with its rapid development in the world. Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences has made the essential plans to admit international students in the Ph.D. degree in Tissue Engineering in order to provide the requisite ground for training efficient specialists for the production of new medical products to make the country profited by getting access to medical technologies
